Grid4 Communications Inc., a Troy, Michigan IP communications company, is a gold-level sponsor for the 2012 Motor City Open, an International squash competition held annually at the Birmingham Athletic Club. The World Professional Squash Association designated the 2012 MCO an International 50 tournament, making it one of the most important tour stops in North America. This year’s tournament field includes 7 of the top 20 world-ranked players, including returning 2011 MCO Champion Mohamed El Shorbagy.
As part of the the Motor City Open, the BAC opens its courts to all junior players in the region for a clinic in an effort to give local junior squash players a chance to learn from the best in the world. The Motor City Open also holds a silent auction benefiting The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and RacquetUp Detroit, an important urban squash and education initiative.
