December 13, 2011 – Troy, MI — Grid4 Communications Inc., announced today that it has started its network expansion plan for 2012 with the completion of a build out in the Birmingham Central Office. With the addition of Birmingham to Grid4’s list of Central Offices in Michigan, Grid4 is able to serve more areas of Southeastern Michigan at even more affordable rates.
“This is an exciting time for us. This new equipment expands our network footprint and allows us to offer Ethernet over Copper in the Birmingham area,” said Tim Riendieu, VP of Network Engineering. “It gives us the opportunity to offer new IP solutions in the Birmingham area and to supplement our existing customers with higher bandwidth solutions.”
With the recent cost increases where AT&T is the local carrier, Grid4 is mitigating these higher costs by building out its network to key locations such as Birmingham. In addition to this expansion, Grid4 will also be adding additional capacity in Royal Oak, Troy, and Bloomfield Hills throughout 2012.
