TROY, Mich. – October 24th, 2007 – Real Estate One (REO), Michigan's largest real estate brokerage company, and one of the largest real estate firms in the United States, has selected Grid4 Communications, Inc. to provide converged network services. Grid4 will provide REO with SmartCOMM™ VoIP voice and data services.

Grid4 will use their SmartCOMM™ VoIP solution to provide converged network services. Converged networks reduce operating costs, equipment upgrades, and technical support costs by converting traditional analog phone service to digital packages of information (packets). Grid4 provides converged solutions allowing a company's phone service and Internet traffic to operate over the same Grid4 private network. Grid4's SmartCOMM™ solution also paves the way for Real Estate One to use MPLS - Multiprotocol Label Switching. MPLS routes data packets in less time and is more flexible than traditional data networks. SmartCOMM™ will give Real Estate One unsurpassed phone and data capability at a cost much lower than traditional phone and data networks. “MPLS will allow Real Estate One to enjoy fast connectivity between offices while also allowing them the flexibility to quickly seize on business opportunities by easily adding new offices or markets” said Tim Riendeau, Vice President of IP Engineering for Grid4 Communications.
Grid4 recently expanded its facilities and staff due to the continuous addition of products to its portfolio and the increasing number of large size customers, such as REO, that realize the benefits of IP products. Grid4 will continue to double its staff during the next five years. These jobs will generate more than $13 million in personal income for Michigan workers throughout 2014. Grid4 is also continuing to renovate the 34,000 square feet facility to support other new large customers.
