TROY, Mich. – June 13, 2008 – Grid4 Communications has mastered an advanced internet protocol, session initiation protocol, also known as “SIP”. SIP provides technological and economical advantages over traditional digital Primary Rate Interface (PRI) circuits, to further improve their quality of service. Their product is SMART-SIP, and it will immediately reduce communication costs by eliminating the need to purchase expensive gateways and cards. Grid4’s system with SMART-SIP will increase bandwith efficiency and improve call quality.
SMART-SIP is a creation devised to lower the amount of required conversions between IP and analog signals. Converting back and forth between signals will result in a reduction of call quality. SMART-SIP maintains a pure IP signal whenever possible, allowing improved call quality and efficiency.
“We continue to execute on our commitment to deliver feature-rich IP services to our customers,” said Douglas Black, Vice President at Grid4. “We are especially excited about the announcement of SMART-SIP as it allows our customers to fully utilize their IP-PBX asset and interface with us, their service provider, using IP. Our all IP network enables us to leverage our existing infrastructure to bundle these type of services for our customers.”
Grid4 Communications integrates SMART-SIP into their network along with a CODEC used for voice packet reduction size. Smaller packets use fewer kilobytes per second, freeing bandwith for other purposes.
SMART-SIP is primarily delivered via dedicated connections from the Grid4 network directly to the customer premise and terminated on a managed router. Internet access bundled with SMART-SIP connects to a customer LAN, enabling voice and internet to be delivered.
Grid4 Communications is a privately held, facilities-based Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Grid4 delivers Advanced IP Communications Services. Among Grid4 Products is a comprehensive portfolio of IP Voice (VoIP), Hi-Speed Dedicated Internet Access (Broadband), Private Data Networking Services (IP Virtual Private Networks – MPLS-VPN) Unified Communications, Security and Managed Solutions for Business.
